VIC APPROVALS SLIDE
VICTORIA has recorded the nation’s sharpest drop in owner-occupier home loan approvals.
Across Australia the number of owner-occupier mortgages approved in September dropped by 1 per cent, seasonally adjusted numbers from the Australian Bureau of Statistics show.
The value of total housing finance was down 3.8 per cent at $29.1 billion for the month, according to the numbers released yesterday.
Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory had the sharpest September drop in owner-occupier home loan approvals.
A total of 652, or 4.3 per cent, fewer were approved in Victoria, and there were 41, or 3.7 per cent, fewer in the ACT.
