SOCCEROOS star Tom Rogic played a key role as Celtic beat Leipzig 2-1 to claw back to joint second in Group B of the Europa League yesterday, equal with the German club.

Rogic played a full game in central midfield as manager Brendan Rodgers went for broke, winning via Odsonne Edouard’s 79th-minute strike.

Salzburg qualified for the knockout phase with a 5-2 thrashing of Rosenborg in the group’s other match. Takumi Minamino scored a hat-trick.

Arsenal made it through after a 0-0 home draw against Sporting marred by a serious ankle injury to English striker Danny Welbeck, who needed oxygen before he was taken to hospital.

In Belgium, Australian goalkeeper Danny Vukovic helped host Genk to a 1-1 draw against Turkish club Besiktas to stay top of Group I.
