INTRODUCING YUMBA YOGA
AFTER visiting her daughter in Thailand in 2010 and trying yoga for the first time, owner of Yumba Yoga Tanya Trevarthen fell in love, and has never looked back.
“Always being an active person, I didn’t think yoga would work the body enough, how wrong was I,” Tanya says.
Tanya did her teacher training through a Gold Coast yoga studio, My Health Yoga.
“Once I completed my Certificate 1 Yoga Teacher, my friends convinced me to teach and loved my classes,” Tanya adds.
In January 2016, Tanya started teaching hatha yoga at Perserverance Hall of a Monday morning.
“I decided to teach hatha yoga as these asanas are not fast but you hold them for longer and experience correct positions, and I also use props,” Tanya notes.
At Yumba Yoga, all levels are welcome and no experience is required.
“Yoga is so rewarding in many areas — flexibility, strength, focus, mindfulness, weight loss and just making you feel amazing,” Tanya says.
