Free Movie Screen­ing - Mao’s Last Dance

Hawkes­bury Li­brary Ser­vice will screen Mao’s Last Dancer on Thurs­day, 31 March at 10am and again at 6pm, cour­tesy of the Na­tional Film and Sound Ar­chive.

The 2009 drama was di­rected by Bruce Beresford, who also di­rected Breaker Mo­rant, and is based on the au­to­bi­og­ra­phy by Li Cunxin. The movie re­counts Li Cunxin’s jour­ney from a young, im­pov­er­ished vil­lage boy to a world­fa­mous pro­fes­sional dancer in the Hous­ton and Aus­tralian Bal­let.

The movie will be shown in the Teb­butt Room, Hawkes­bury Cen­tral Li­brary, Deerub­bin Cen­tre, 300 Ge­orge Street Wind­sor and runs for 111 min­utes.
