Hills to Hawkesbury Living Magazine - - Travel & Tourism - with Matt Maclelland

Time : 2 hrs 30 mins Length: 4.5 km hard Circuit

Ridge tops views, waterfalls, aboriginal engravings, historic grave site and a remote community - what a great bushwalk. From the Elvina Track car park on West Head Road, you start by wandering along the trail to soon find you first short side trip to a large open rock platform with a variety of clear rock engravings. The main trail then leads you downhill, among the she oak and eucalypt forest, to the waters edge where you find the Elvina and Lovett Bay communities. These communities are only accessible via foot or boat, there is a small park, ferry wharfs, but no shops or public toilets. The walk back up is via a narrower and fainter track giving more great views of the Pittwater and the delightful Lovett falls and natural pool. A lovely and varied walk.
