Mem­ber for Hawkes­bury Do­minic Per­rot­tet has an­nounced es­sen­tial safety im­prove­ment work will be car­ried out later this month on Putty Road at Colo.

Mr Per­rot­tet said the NSW Govern­ment has al­lo­cated $115,000 to pro­vide bet­ter ad­vanced warn­ing and greater guid­ance for mo­torists driv­ing around bends.

“Work will be car­ried out be­tween Up­per and Lower Colo Road to im­prove safety for road users, par­tic­u­larly mo­tor­cy­clists and re­duce the oc­cur­rence and sever­ity of crashes,” Mr Per­rot­tet said.

“Work will in­volve in­stalling a rail on the ex­ist­ing safety bar­rier and two ve­hi­cle ac­ti­vated signs.”

Work is sched­uled to be car­ried out from Mon­day 15 May to Fri­day 14 July on week­days be­tween 7am and 5pm, ex­clud­ing pub­lic hol­i­days and weather per­mit­ting.

“Work is ex­pected to take around eight shifts to com­plete and ev­ery ef­fort will be made to min­imise the im­pact of noise on nearby res­i­dents and busi­nesses,” Mr Per­rot­tet said.

“For the safety of work­ers and mo­torists, traf­fic con­trol and lane clo­sures will be in place dur­ing work hours.

“Mo­torists should plan their jour­ney, drive to the con­di­tions and fol­low the di­rec­tion of all signs.”

Roads and Mar­itime Ser­vices thanks the com­mu­nity for its pa­tience while work is car­ried out.

Tem­po­rary traf­fic changes will con­tinue to be in place to make sure the work zone is safe.
