Nom­i­nate now for the 2018 Hawkes­bury Australia Day Awards and be in the draw to win $100 voucher

Nom­i­na­tions are now open for the 2018 Hawkes­bury Australia Day Awards. Do you know a wor­thy in­di­vid­ual you can nom­i­nate? Th­ese awards are a great way for the Hawkes­bury to recog­nise the many out­stand­ing peo­ple in our com­mu­nity.

“The Hawkes­bury Australia Day Awards pro­gram has been de­vel­oped to recog­nise the out­stand­ing cit­i­zens of the Hawkes­bury and show our ap­pre­ci­a­tion for their con­tri­bu­tion to our com­mu­nity,” said Hawkes­bury Mayor, Coun­cil­lor Mary Lyon­sBuck­ett.

“Year af­ter year, an abun­dance of wor­thy in­di­vid­u­als and or­gan­i­sa­tions are nom­i­nated for th­ese awards and I’m look­ing for­ward to see­ing the list of nom­i­nees for the 2018 Awards,” she added.

Nom­i­na­tions are now open and Coun­cil is call­ing for nom­i­na­tions for in­di­vid­u­als and com­mu­nity groups who ad­dress the selec­tion cri­te­ria of one or more of the nine cat­e­gories to be sub­mit­ted. Nom­i­na­tors will au­to­mat­i­cally go in the run­ning to win one of five $100 Coles/Myer gift cards.

Com­mu­nity mem­bers can nom­i­nate in one or more of fol­low­ing the nine cat­e­gories:

Ci­ti­zen of the Year Young Ci­ti­zen of the Year Lo­cal Hero Award Vol­un­teer of the Year Com­mu­nity Or­gan­i­sa­tion of the Year Com­mu­nity Arts Award Cul­tural Her­itage Award En­vi­ron­men­tal Award Com­mem­o­ra­tive Plaque

The winners will be an­nounced on Australia Day, 2018, at a spe­cial awards pre­sen­ta­tion.

More in­for­ma­tion about the award cat­e­gories and nom­i­na­tion forms are avail­able on­line at www.hawkes­ . Nom­i­na­tions close on Fri­day, 10 Novem­ber 2017 at 5pm.

Coun­cil’s Civic and Cit­i­zen­ship Com­mit­tee is re­spon­si­ble for assess­ing all nom­i­na­tions re­ceived. Judg­ing will take place in early De­cem­ber. Awards will be pre­sented at a cer­e­mony on Australia Day 2018.
