The Hills Shire Coun­cil has an­nounced their new Youth Am­bas­sadors for 2018.

Jes­sica Peake and Jude Ah­mad were named the new Youth Am­bas­sadors, while Lach­lan Rus­sell, Su­jneet Kaur Jo­hal, Jaskaran Singh Jo­hal, An­nika Sanker, Hi­maja Man­ishi Dave and Vanessa Valen­sise were an­nounced as Youth Cham­pi­ons.

As Youth Am­bas­sadors, Jes­sica and Jude will act as the voice for young peo­ple in The Hills Shire.

The 12-month role in­cludes in­volve­ment in lo­cal youth ac­tiv­i­ties and Coun­cil com­mu­nity events, speak­ing at ap­pro­pri­ate Coun­cil func­tions, at­tend­ing youth award func­tions and be­ing an ac­tive par­tic­i­pant in and pro­vid­ing di­rec­tion to the Hills Youth Army.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said it’s in­spir­ing to see fu­ture lead­ers step­ping up and mak­ing a dif­fer­ence in The Shire.

Mayor Byrne also com­mended past Youth Am­bas­sadors on their im­mense con­tri­bu­tion to our Shire in­clud­ing 2016– 2017 youth am­bas­sadors, Clau­dia Chow and Thomas Kelly, for the in­cred­i­ble work they have done over the past year. “I also want to ac­knowl­edge Cas­sidyRae Wil­son – Youth Am­bas­sador for 2015–2016 and our cur­rent Youth Choir Ad­min­is­tra­tor – for all her time and ef­fort,” Mayor Byrne added.
