More than 100 peo­ple at­tended a Dis­abil­ity Fo­rum held at Rouse Hill Town Cen­tre re­cently.

SSI Abil­ity Links held the fo­rum to pro­vide in­for­ma­tion on all ser­vices for peo­ple with in­tel­lec­tual dis­abil­i­ties in the Hills re­gion, en­able fam­i­lies and car­ers to meet ser­vice providers and gain new ideas on how to im­prove their qual­ity of life.

It was run in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the Hills Shire Coun­cil, Lo­cal Area Co­or­di­na­tors and the Na­tional Dis­abil­ity Co­or­di­na­tion Of­fice (NDCO).

Hills Mayor Dr Michelle Byrne sup­ported the event, high­light­ing the im­por­tance of in­clu­sion in the com­mu­nity.

Abil­ity Links NSW (ALNSW) is a pro­gram cre­ated by the NSW gov­ern­ment to sup­port peo­ple with dis­abil­ity, their fam­i­lies and car­ers to live the life they want as val­ued and equal mem­bers of their com­mu­nity.
