Thou­sands of peo­ple, from stu­dents to grand­par­ents, are set to walk down Cas­tle Street Cas­tle Hill on Fri­day, Novem­ber 23 to protest against vi­o­lence against women.

The march will start at 7am at Cas­tle Tow­ers and head down Cas­tle St to Cas­tle Hill RSL. At­ten­dees are asked to gather out­side the Cas­tle Tow­ers Pi­azza.

White Rib­bon Am­bas­sador Si­mon Bouda from Chan­nel Nine News will be a guest speaker as well as au­thor Re­nee McBryde at a White Rib­bon break­fast in the Lyceum room at 8am.

McBryde’s book, House of Lies, de­tails the story of her tur­bu­lent child­hood and her fa­ther who was jailed for mur­der. Tick­ets are $50.

As well as the break­fast up­stairs there will be a youth event in the Cas­tle Hill RSL Court­yard restau­rant at­tended by stu­dents from at least 15 lo­cal high schools.

Guest speak­ers will be Marco Capo­bianco from the Con­vic­tion Group, Ed Jenk­ins from the po­lice youth li­ai­son of­fi­cer Rob Pater­son.
