FED­ERAL MEM­BER FOR MITCHELL AS­SIS­TANT DE­FENCE MIN­IS­TER MIN­IS­TER FOR IN­TER­NA­TIONAL DEVEL­OP­MENT AND THE PA­CIFIC There are a num­ber of fan­tas­tic grant op­por­tu­ni­ties cur­rently avail­able for the Mitchell lo­cal com­mu­nity. The Mor­ri­son Govern­ment is work­ing to keep our econ­omy strong, and to strengthen lo­cal com­mu­ni­ties. Com­mu­nity groups con­trib­ute so much to our lo­cal com­mu­nity, mak­ing them bet­ter places to live, work and raise a fam­ily.

Grants are avail­able for lo­cal com­mu­nity groups, vol­un­teer or­gan­i­sa­tions and sport­ing groups to as­sist the Hills district to con­tinue to thrive. Listed be­low are cur­rent grant op­por­tu­ni­ties and I en­cour­age all el­i­gi­ble groups to ap­ply.

Stronger Com­mu­ni­ties Pro­gramme – Round 5, EOI closes 6 Septem­ber

Lo­cal com­mu­nity and sport­ing groups are in­vited to ap­ply for fund­ing un­der the Stronger Com­mu­ni­ties Pro­gramme (SCP) - Round 5. The ob­jec­tive is to fund small cap­i­tal projects which will de­liver so­cial ben­e­fits to cre­ate vi­brant and vi­able com­mu­ni­ties into the fu­ture. Com­mu­ni­ties En­vi­ron­ment Pro­gram – Ex­pres­sions of In­ter­est (EOI) closes 27 Septem­ber

Aus­tralians care deeply about their com­mu­ni­ties and are pas­sion­ate about pro­tect­ing our lo­cal flora and fauna, our threat­ened species, and our beau­ti­ful nat­u­ral en­vi­ron­ment.

The Mor­ri­son Govern­ment’s Com­mu­ni­ties En­vi­ron­ment Pro­gram will har­ness that pas­sion by help­ing grass­roots com­mu­nity or­gan­i­sa­tions to de­liver prac­ti­cal lo­cal projects that build en­vi­ron­men­tal aware­ness and re-con­nect Aus­tralians with their lo­cal en­vi­ron­ment.

Each fed­eral elec­torate has been al­lo­cated up to $150,000 in 2019-20 for up to 20 projects. Grants can range from $2,500 to $20,000 per project. No matching fund­ing by pro­po­nents is nec­es­sary un­der this pro­gram’s guide­lines.

Mitchell Lo­cal Sport­ing Grants – Ap­pli­ca­tions close 30 Septem­ber

If you are the par­ent of a young sport­ing achiever (aged 12-18) who par­tic­i­pates in state, na­tional and in­ter­na­tional level cham­pi­onships then ap­ply now for Round 2 of Mitchell Lo­cal Sport­ing Grants. A grant of $500-$750 per in­di­vid­ual is avail­able to help meet costs such as travel, equip­ment, uni­forms and ac­com­mo­da­tion.
