The wonderful world of Pixar

The smiles will be going into overdrive at The Happiest Place on Earth, with exciting new Pixar adventures set to launch at Disneyland Resort in California.

-

The wonderful world of Pixar has extended its home across Disneyland in 2018. The Californian resort continues to embrace creativity, technology and innovation, all in a bid to realise Walt Disney’s promise that “Disneyland will never be completed as long as there is imagination left in the world.”

Party with Pixar

The first-ever Pixar Fest at Disneyland Resort will sprinkle a little extra Disney magic on your family until 3 September 2018. This celebration of friendship and beyond will see beloved stories from Pixar Animation Studios come to life through activities, shows and character appearances at both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.

Pixar Fest will include a brand-new firework show, “Together Forever – A Pixar Night-time Spectacular”, celebrating the timeless theme of friendship with dazzling pyrotechnics, which will light up the sky over Disneyland.

Pixar Fest will also see the return of two popular shows. “Paint the Night” will feature Pixar pals including Buzz, Woody and Jessie from Toy Story, Mike and Sulley from Monsters, Inc. and Lightning and Mater from Cars. The Pixar Play Parade, a high-energy extravaganza, will make its way through Disneyland Park for the first time. The updated parade will see the addition of characters from Inside Out and Up and, to celebrate the unveiling of Pixar Pier’s The Incredibles neighbourhood, Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl and Frozone will also appear from 23 June with state-of-the-art effects bringing the “supers" to life.

The Pixar Fest celebrations will also extend to the Disneyland Resort hotels, with special Pixar-themed room and ticket packages available. Families can enjoy a colourful Pixar-filled welcome, complete with a door banner, themed bedding and balloons, as well as a limited-edition print to take home, plus reserved viewing for the enormously popular night parade.

From Paradise to Pixar

Disney California Adventure Park will see the opening of Pixar Pier this June. The new zone, which is replacing Paradise Pier, is named after the movie studio that launched some of Disney’s biggest animated successes, such as Coco and The Incredibles. It will see guests experiencing Pixar stories and characters in awe-inspiring new ways with a raft of dazzling entertainment.

Disneyland Report Card

While the park already has existing attractions based on Pixar movies, including Cars Land and Toy Story Midway Mania!, Pixar Pier will be home to four new whimsical neighbourhoods, each inspired by popular Pixar worlds.

The first neighbourhood, inspired by The Incredibles, which is scheduled to have a sequel released in June, will include the thrilling, high-speed Incredicoaster, a transformed and reimagined California Screamin’. The new ride’s combination of character figures, lighting and special effects will have the Incredible family racing alongside riders in an attempt to catch mischievous baby Jack-jack.

A neighbourhood inspired by Toy Story will be based around the existing Toy Story Midway Mania! attraction. Another new neighbourhood is inspired by Disney•pixar’s Inside Out and a new themed attraction is scheduled to open in that neighbourhood at a later date. The fourth new neighbourhood will celebrate a collection of guest-favourite Pixar stories. Visitors will pass through a new archway into the Pixar Promenade, where three of the four existing arcade games have been re-themed with plush Pixar prizes available for winners.

And while the iconic face of Mickey Mouse will continue to beam joy across the Paradise Bay side of Mickey’s Fun Wheel, the ride will be re-themed with each of the 24 gondolas showcasing different Pixar characters.

Even the food has been reinvented, with new Pixar Pier dining locations and guests invited to take a bite out of Alien Macarons, Dory Cake Pops, beignets harnessing the culinary genius of Ratatouille’s Remy the rat, and piping-hot churros inspired by Pixar’s newest hit, Coco. Stay For the ultimate Disneyland experience, enjoy one of the Pixar Fest packages and stay on site at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels: the magical Disneyland Hotel, luxurious Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa or the beachy Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel.
