We uncover the most out-of-this-world experiences for kids right here on Earth.

Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex

Tidbinbilla, ACT, Australia

Part of NASA’S Deep Space Network, here kids can find out about Australia’s contribution to space exploration. You can see a 3.8 billion-year-old piece of moon rock and find out what astronauts eat in space. Yum. I think. cdscc.nasa.gov

The CSIRO Parkes Observatory Parkes, NSW, Australia

Better known as ‘The Dish’, this place played a big role in man landing on the moon, like a bazillion years ago. Now you can visit the complex, experience the 3D theatre and go on a scavenger hunt. csiro.au/parkes

The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum

Washington, DC, USA

This is the most visited museum in America and, as well as real-life spaceships like the Apollo 11 command module, there are heaps of awesome, interactive exhibits that teach us all about the history of flight and space exploration. airandspace.si.edu

Space Centre Leicester, United Kingdom

At this super cool space centre, there are loads of educational, interactive galleries for wannabe astronauts to get hands-on and explore, as well as the UK’S largest planetarium and an epic Rocket Tower. spacecentre.co.uk
