Let there be light

-

As darkness falls over Australia’s spiritual heartland, Field of Light, or ‘Tili Wiru Tjuta Nyakutjaku’, lights up the desert at the base of Uluru. So popular are the 50,000 radiant glass spheres that cover an area the size of seven football fields that the exhibit has been extended to 31 December 2020.

Uluru doesn’t have the monopoly on light shows, with Alice Springs, set to dazzle at Parrtjima – A Festival in Light, from 28 September until 7 October 2018. The free public event is the first authentic Indigenous light festival of its kind and showcases the oldest continuous culture on Earth with the iconic Macdonnell Ranges as a backdrop.
