Cardrona’s team of instructor­s teach thousands of children to ski and snowboard every winter in group lessons, private lessons and school groups. tip Parents should take time out and pop into Vista Bar at the top of Mcdougall’s Express Chondola. Treble Cone is the largest ski area on New Zealand’s South Island and is heaven on a ski pole for everyone who loves spectacula­r, steep and challengin­g terrain with jawdroppin­g views over Lake Wanaka and the Southern Alps. But never fear – beginners are not forgotten with a lovely area for learning near the base lodge. For pure joy on the slopes, head to the Saddle Basin or the Motatapu Chutes.
