Aletta admits to a beginner’s mistake by sowing too many tomatoes, resulting in such a bumper yield the family couldn’t eat it all. The answer – sow seed over several weeks so that everything doesn’t ripen at the same time. Choose different varieties that can be harvested over a longer season, and plant just a handful of vegetables so you have a mixed crop. Next year, Aletta’s aim is to have more variety in her garden, with soft fruits such as raspberries and blueberries.
