LEE TURNS BACK TIME

Tin may be the customary 10th anniversary gift, but UK designer Lee Broom (above) chose a far more majestic material to celebrate his studio’s 10th year in business. Launched this year in Milan, his ‘Time Machine’ grandfather clock (right) is made from a monolithic block of Carrara marble and polished brass. “My grandparents had a grandfather clock and I was always fascinated by its majestic appearance and its intricate mechanisms,” says Lee.
