Who lives here?

Kelly, a full-time mum; her husband, Nick, a builder; son Tomm, 13; daughter Paige, 11; and Marli, the five-year-old labrador. Favourite time of the year?

Kelly: “Winter. I love living in Victoria, because of the distinct seasons. To be here and see the seasons come and go is so lovely. In autumn, the trees are just stunning, and now in winter, when they’re bare, they have that really special feel. And you know in another couple of months, everything will turn green again.” Anything still on the wishlist for the house? “Cosmetically and structurally, there’s nothing I’d like to change. But I would like to put in hydronic heating for next winter, which is more economical and gives a lovely constant heat.” OUTDOORS

Nick recently installed a pizza oven from Bunnings (above) and it is proving a huge hit with the family – not to mention their guests. “Everyone loves it,” says Kelly. Populated with an array of evergreen and deciduous trees, the two-and-a-half-acre garden is a veritable oasis for the family. “You almost forget where you are when you’re out here, as it’s just so private,” says Kelly. “There’s a fruit orchard and citrus grove, which provides us with fresh orange juice every morning, as well as so many places to explore, and trees to climb and build shelters under. It’s a wonderful place for the children to grow up in.”
