TURN YOUR OLD MISO BOWLS INTO DECOR DELIGHTS WITH A GLITTERING MAKEOVER

- WORDS & STYLING SAMI SIMPER PHOTOGRAPHY CATH MUSCAT

YOU WILL NEED:

• Assorted textured miso bowls with lids and soup bowls, from $2.80 each, Tokutokuya • Spray paint. We used Dulux Duramax spray-paint in Metallic Finish Gold, $14.25/325g can, Bunnings • Newspaper or plastic sheets • Paper face mask

METHOD

1. Clean any dirt or dust from bowls and lids. 2. Place bowl, face down, onto newspaper or plastic. Put on paper face mask. (Note: the best place to spray is outside or in a well-ventilated area.) 3. Shake spray-paint can for 2-3 minutes, to allow paint to completely mix together. 4. Spray from side to side – first left to right and then right to left – making sure you get an even coverage over the bowl and lid. If you’re new to spray painting, practise on a piece of paper first. 5. Allow to dry, then turn over and spray inside of bowl/lid. 6. Repeat process if you need a second coat. 7. Repeat with other bowls/lids. 8. Allow paint to dry completely before use.*
