TREND 2: TAILORED SIMPLICITY

-

Graphic and bold, with a focus on materials, strong shapes and simple finishes, this style takes the industrial look out of the warehouse and gives it a polish. “Carefully curated, each element in this trend creates drama, from the bold use of colour to the wall murals and architectural lighting, which become works of art in themselves,” says HB’s Rachel Peters. Deep tones – teal blue, pomegranate, dark wood and gold – provide the base scheme. “Contrasting in colour but tonally similar, the pairing of teal blue and pomegranate brings a richness and depth to a space,” says Sarah Stephenson of Wattyl. “Dark timber and gold accents feel luxe and exotic. This palette is bold and expressive, but can be adapted with the introduction of monochromatic versions of these hues. Lighter versions will appear as softer, pretty tones that introduce a more floral or boho essence to the design.” Colours: Wattyl Aegean Sky, Peach Velvet, Fiord Green.

“This bold trend is perfectly suited to urban environments, with accessories spare but high on impact” ~ Imogene Abady, HB creative director
