TREND 5: GLOBAL PATTERN
Underpinned by Ottoman Empire-inspired interiors, this decorating style pulls from a range of global cultures, with the intricate patterns of the Middle East given a lighter counterpoint with modern furniture pieces. “The palette is a lively combination of celebratory colours,” says stylist John Mangila. The look has base notes of emerald green, burgundy, indigo and saffron. “Dark and strong colours are engaging and make you take notice of your space,” says Taubmans brand ambassador Shaynna Blaze. “They inject personality to a room’s interior and give strength that is defined neither as masculine or feminine. Indigo is one of my favourite dark colours as it gives a rich and moody look that can be accented with black and brass for a masculine, edgy feel, or transformed to something soft with a simple contrast of white.” Colours: Taubmans Admiral Blue, Nullabour Sunset, Witch Green.
“This look is festive, bright and life-affirming, evoking indulgence, glamour and adventure” ~ John Mangila, stylist
