It’s all too easy to overspend when decorating a child’s room, so employ a spend-and-save approach to keep the budget in check. Melissa Lee of Young Folk advises spending on quality furniture, natural linen, rugs, artwork frames, non age-specific lighting and clever storage. “What I save on is decor pieces,” she says. “I like to use toys as decor, especially beautiful and well-crafted ones. Wooden toys and handmade dolls are multi-use as these can be played with and used to decorate the room as well.”
