Kathleen, a former publishing associate; her husband Campbell, a lawyer; daughter, Mimi, 17, and son Caspar, 13; and Bella the cavoodle. Favourite room in the home? Kathleen: “Definitely the kitchen. I spend a lot of time in there and I love that it is so open and airy. The overall palette is calm, but the artwork nearby is fun – that’s a good combination for family life.”

What is your best renovating tip?

“Do lots of preparation before work begins so you’re not forced to make too many rushed decisions under pressure.”

Where in the home do you relax?

“In summer, I have my coffee on the kitchen terrace. In winter, there’s nothing better than the morning sun that streams into the living room.”
