Cool, calm and overwhelmingly popular, blue hues are an enduring favourite in the home, but in 2018 its pastel form takes a dark turn. “Blues continue in the depths of teal, deep sea blue and for a little fun we see some mints for the first time in years,” says Dulux colour expert Andrea Lucena-Orr. Ocean blues are perfect as an accent colour and pair well with pops of gold and brass detailing, while muddied greeny-blue shades make for an on-trend feature wall in living spaces and bedrooms. “The misty grey tones we’re seeing underpin a sense of comfort and retreat,” adds Sarah Stephenson.
