LIVING AREA
Soft neutrals create a calming living area (opposite), and allow the verdant outdoor vistas to take centre stage. The zone is grounded by a Bayliss ‘Pandora’ rug, while comfy seating comes in the form of an ‘Andersen’ 2.5-seater fabric sofa from Freedom. Hues from the garden are captured in a striking abstract artwork, ‘Through the Days’ by Clair Bremner, available through Art to Art, and a Tea Rose Blue cushion from Bonnie and Neil. The old fireplace (above) was given a makeover with Resene Half Tea with an inset of subway tiles arranged in a herringbone pattern. An original artwork by John Morris created for a family friend’s album cover hangs above the custom mantel, which is made of cypress pine and stained in Feast Watson Brown Japan. The warm tone is mirrored in the French Oak engineered timber floorboards, which run throughout the home, including in the welcoming hallway (right).
