Who lives here? Sylvia, an artist (sylviamcewan.com), and her husband, Ian. What’s your favourite piece of furniture?

Sylvia: “The three-metre milliner’s table from Avignon that we bought for our last house. I use it as a console table to store all the things that were piled up on our dining room table.” What object have you owned the longest?

“Two pots from the very first house we bought. The pots have survived, but not the plants!” How often do you change round your artworks?

“Quite often, and always when I have finished new works. I like to hang them immediately so that I can see them in different times of the day, in different lights and from different angles.” Which one is your favourite?

“I don’t have one. It’s usually the last painting I completed that I am really excited about.”
