yoga room
In a buzzing world of never-ending screen time, having space set aside for meditation and mindfulness can benefit overall wellness. These days, yoga rooms are more popular than ever. Karen Abernethy, architect behind Melbourne’s Humming Puppy yoga studio, says there are a few things to consider to get it right. “A simple colour palette is important to create a pared-back, meditative space,” she says. Neutral tones are ideal, and textures and materials should be minimal to discourage distraction. “The flooring material in this space is critical, so ensure that the surface for practising yoga isn’t too hard or too soft,” adds Karen.
