New! HBTV Delicious recipes fresh from the farm
RENOWNED FOR THE RIVER THAT SNAKES THROUGH THIS SALAD-BOWL REGION, THE HAWKESBURY VALLEY IS PREPARING TO WELCOME A NEW CULINARY CONCEPT: COOKS CO-OP
“Karen from Willowbrae is, in my opinion, a true goat's handmade cheese artisan. process her provides a flavour reminiscent of what our grandparents would have eaten” - martin boetz
For the foodies out there, the name Martin Boetz might ring a bell – the chef amassed a cult following during his 13-year stint at the Longrain restaurants. Since then, Marty has escaped the bustle of the big smoke and taken on a new adventure. In 2012, he stumbled across a property in the Hawkesbury Valley in NSW and moved swiftly to snap it up. Set against a canvas of blue-grey gums, the farm boasts breathtaking river views and, as Marty quips, “gives good shed”. With producers of all kinds appearing in every corner of the region, it wasn’t long into his tree-change that Marty thought to combine his new plot with his passion for food. And so, Cooks Co-op was born! In an original web series, introduced by local producer Gerry Harvey and presented by Home Beautiful, join the Cooks Co-op journey as we meet the farmers, share some delicious recipes and reveal the shed-to-restaurant transformation.
