Who lives here?

Annaleena, creative director of furniture brand Hakola; Tuomas, who works in media; and their boys, Elmeri, four, and Nooa, one.

Did you always plan to buy a mid-century home?

Annaleena: “Actually no. We lived in older houses in the centre of Helsinki and we just wanted to get more space when the kids were born. But the minute we stepped in, we knew this was it.”

What do you love about this era?

“I love the feeling of the original wooden furniture, the atmosphere of the ’60s and also the great quality.”

Are you planning any more changes? “No, this house was designed for everyday living. It’s perfect for a family with kids.”
