Who lives here?

Marnie, a medical device territory manager and maker; John, a trades and services manager; and their children Charlie, 13, and Tom, 11. How would you describe your interior style? Marnie: “It’s a relaxed contemporary home. The black-and-white scheme has a formal edge, which creates impact, while the timber features add a casual warmth.” Favourite part of the home?

John: “The cathedral ceilings won us over when we first walked in, and now they’re painted white, they really create a feeling of space.” Biggest splurge?

Marnie: “Our fireplace! Our friends thought we were a little crazy putting in a wood fireplace on the Gold Coast, but John is originally from England so he wanted that cosy, mesmerising warmth that a fire can bring.”
