SHARMIN & JOHN’S HOME

Who lives here?

Sharmin, a personal stylist; her husband John, a national director for a hotel property company; their sons Ike, 13, and Sonny,

10; and family cavador Fonz.

What’s the key to a successful renovation? Sharmin: “I think the most important thing is to recognise it is a team effort. Everyone worked together. It was exhausting at times during the process – exciting, but exhausting.”

Did you live in the home during the works? John: “No, we moved out and rented a little place nearby.”

What’s the best thing about single-level homes? John: “I’m always forgetting things, so I’d be running up and down stairs for keys every five seconds if we were in a double-storey home.” Favourite shopping haunts for interiors? Sharmin: “I would say Vampt Vintage Design and Spence & Lyda.”
