PARAMOUNT HOUSE HOTEL, SYDNEY
A seamless blend of 1930s heritage details and contemporary cool sets apart this sleek bathroom in the former headquarters of Paramount Pictures Studios in Surry Hills. Rich with texture, the space achieves visual balance with a restrained, earthy colour palette. “Terrazzo tiles, curved joinery edges, bold colours and solid brass detailing take cues from the existing Art-Deco architecture,” says Bettina Robinson of Breathe Architecture. “We also wanted to retain and expose the worn existing building to encapsulate the truly unique quality of the site.”
