Designer’s diary
Interior designer Louise Walsh reveals some of her favourite spots to dine, shop and find inspiration
ONDENE
“This store is full of inspiration and stocks great one-off furniture pieces, luxe Italian bedlinen from Society Limonta (my favourite!) and accessories from the Collection Particulière by Jérôme Aumont all the way from France.” Visit: 12 Transvaal Ave, Double Bay NSW Bookmark: ondene.com
Royal Botanic Garden Sydney
“Whenever I can, I like to take a break from my desk and site meetings to wander through the Royal Botanic Garden. A lot of our work is inspired by nature’s textures and colours, and the garden provides an endless amount of inspiration, as do the views of Sydney Harbour.” Visit: Mrs Macquaries Rd, Sydney, NSW Bookmark: rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au
SPENCE & LYDA
“I’M ALWAYS INSPIRED BY THE WONDERFULLY CURATED SELECTION AT SPENCE & LYDA. IT’S A REGULAR STOP WHEN SOURCING FOR A PROJECT, BUT I LOVE JUST DROPPING BY THE SHOWROOM JUST TO SEE WHAT’S NEW IN LIGHTING, FURNITURE, TEXTILES AND HOMEWARES.” VISIT: 184 CHALMERS ST, SURRY HILLS, NSW BOOKMARK: SPENCEANDLYDA.COM.AU
Bayleaf
“Breakfast with my son at Bayleaf cafe has become a ritual of ours before hitting Belongil Beach [in Byron Bay, on the north coast of NSW]. Happy service, delicious food and a general laid-back vibe.” Visit: 2A Marvell St, Byron Bay, NSW
