FOUNDER OF AUSSIE TINY HOUSES, FABIO PAULUCCI (ABOVE), TAKES MINIMALISM TO THE NEXT LEVEL AND SITS DOWN WITH HB TO TALK ABOUT WHY DOWNSIZING IS THE REAL SECRET TO LIVING LARGE
What inspired you to start building tiny homes?
Fabio: “I saw that many of us are living in large houses that we can’t afford, with higher walls between us and the community, smaller blocks of land and more concrete than nature around us. That inspired me to look for alternatives.”
How does the location influence the design of each home?
Where are your houses made?
“All our tiny houses are manufactured in Coolum Beach, Queensland.” What does the size and layout look like inside?
“We have homes that can accommodate up to three sleeping spaces and you can choose between loft bedrooms, ground-level bedrooms or both. Most rooms are around five to six metres squared for a standard bedroom.”

“We design all our tiny homes with practicality and sustainability in mind. Each house is designed for specific profiles and demographics, [whether that be accommodating a family or solo beachside dweller]. We customise all of our homes to suit specific climates and needs, such as adding more insulation and better glazing.”
“We have an in-house design team that works alongside each customer to tailor the home to their specific tastes. Customers can customise the interior finishes and fittings as they wish, and they can also customise the orientation of the model and also replace windows and doors.”
