GEORGIA’S FAVOURITE PLACES, SPACES, PEOPLE AND IDEAS TO INSPIRE, MOTIVATE AND CELEBRATE

- Words LAURA BARRY

Something all your designs have in common is…

“The experiential and sensory thought behind them, a handmade, organic nature.”

Inspiration comes when...

“I am removed from my everyday life. That might be visiting family in Sydney or going to country Victoria [7] for a weekend. I’m loving the Lancefield and Pyalong areas, which are understated and just so cute and authentic.”

Where do you like to shop?

“I am always blown away by the constant creative innovation and fashionforward nature of Dinosaur Designs [1]. And I just love how bold and incredibly brave Anna Spiro is with her use of colour, pattern and texture [8]. I also like to source art from obscure places like auction houses and second-hand dealers. Curatorial+Co [4] and The Egg & Dart are two of my favourite places to buy art.”

What’s topping your furniture wishlist right now?

“An antique Bellini sofa from CCSS … I adore the idea of buying a vintage or antique piece with a beautiful story, and a denHolm coffee table [6] because each piece is just so incredibly stunning and bespoke.”

As a busy working mum, what life lesson do you want to teach your children?

“As long as they try their absolute hardest, it is all that matters … everything and anything is achievable with hard work, belief in oneself and persistence.”

When you find the time, where do you go to relax?

“Willow Urban Retreat [5] on High Street in Armadale is an absolute treat. I also try really hard to make extraordinary moments out of the ordinary. I will dine under the stars outside with a candle (usually with Spanish guitar or Italian music playing in the background). These moments allow me to relax.”

Success looks like…

“The ability to provide for and create the most incredible team (who I call my family), and intimate moments with my beautiful husband and two children – ideally with a coffee on the beach. I love my work, I’m so driven and propelled but, truly, a coffee in hand watching my family enjoy life is success and the highest form of bliss.”
