HB TALKS ABOUT PLUSH MATERIALS AND TOWEL CARE WITH FOUNDER OF EN GOLD AND LUXURY TOWEL COMPANY YŌLI, STEFFANIE BALL

-

What homewares trends have you noticed lately?

“There is a focus on buying for long-term. We want to minimise wastage and that’s my personal take when I’m purchasing anything for my home, I want it to withstand trends. Having pieces that are pared back. That’s tied in with En Gold and Yōli, something we are embracing.”

What materials are Yōli towels made from?

“It was about making the most plush, luxurious-feeling towel because that’s what I was craving and couldn’t find. We did a blind touch test. We tried many di erent fibres and unanimously the fibre we chose was really high quality Turkish cotton. All of our cotton is certified organic and the heaviest weight towel you can get.”

How should you care for Yōli towels?

“Do not use too much soap because it can build residue and over time you’re going to create this tangible layer on the fibres of your towel. Avoid fabric softeners; they coat the fibres and make them less absorbent. You want to be washing your towels every three days and we recommend that you dry them in the dryer to flu them up and make them last longer.”

What’s next for Yōli and En Gold?

“Slow is very much what the Yōli brand stands for so we’re moving at a steady pace. Coming up for En Gold, we have our new Head O ce located in Cebu, new international brand partners and lots of new designs including our new outdoor collection.”
