HANGING SHELF

Homes+ (Australia) - - STYLE & DECORATE -

YOU WILL NEED

● dressed pine plank (Bunnings will cut to your desired size) ● electric drill ● 10mm drill bit ● rope ● scissors ● stud finder ● pencil ● brass ceiling hooks

HERE’S HOW

1 Drill a hole in each corner of the pine, about 2cm from the edges.

2 Cut two lengths of rope to hang the shelf at desired height (ours are 2m long).

3 Feed one rope down through one hole in pine, then up through the other hole on the same side. Repeat for remaining rope and opposite end of pine.

4 Position the rope so that it is centered. Tie 3 string knots at the top of the rope and trim excess.

5 To find the studs in your ceiling, hover the stud finder over the ceiling. Be sure to avoid any electrical cables.

6 When you’ve found the studs, mark with a pencil where you will position the ceiling hooks.

7 Screw the hooks into the ceiling. 8 Hang the shelf and add plants.
