Since the ESRB be­gan, other rat­ings boards have been cre­ated to reg­u­late games clas­si­fi­ca­tions in their own re­gions, such as Ja­pan’s CERO, Europe’s PEGI and Aus­tralia’s OFLC, now known as the Aus­tralian Clas­si­fi­ca­tion Board (ACB). And while Aus­tralia might still refuse clas­si­fi­ca­tion of some games (the sys­tem’s rubric is very spe­cific and freely avail­able on­line), who can ar­gue that such a sys­tem isn’t nec­es­sary to keep kids from buy­ing gra­tu­itous or vi­o­lent stu„?
