Break objects into shapes

It’s good to start by thinking of things in their graphic shapes. I like to view elements in layers, almost as if the image were made out of paper cutouts. Another technique is visualising the image in three values. Use the shapes that are made out of light and shadow to direct the viewer’s eye.
