4 Identifying edges and accents of colour

As the picture nears its end, I think about the various edges that make it interesting and use a variety of them to bring attention to the focal point. Adding accents of saturated colour in a few specific areas does the same job of directing the eye through the piece.

Here is a soft edge on the cheek. I add a slight gradient to the background colour to make the light side of the face glow.

Squinting reveals colour accents on the hair where it catches the light. I use a hard edge here, where the forehead meets the background.
