Ask­ing a friend to model for you al­ways helps push the re­al­ism, es­pe­cially with such a spe­cific light­ing sce­nario. Know­ing where the light falls on the cheek­bones, nose and lips is a huge time-saver. The dra­matic light from the torch leaves half of his face in shadow, but that doesn’t mean we can ne­glect it! Luisa uses a slight blue/grey bounce light from the top of the dun­geon to sub­tly sculpt the planes of the face and make it look more three-di­men­sional.
