High resolution: sculpting the mammoth’s skin
This is where I use ZBrush to detail the high-resolution character. This process can be broken down into three creative steps: primary silhouette; secondary forms; and tertiary detail. Initially, brushes such as Move, Standard and Clay Buildup help build up the initial form. Adding brushes such as Pinch and Dam Standard enable me to start looking at skin folds and surface transition, while brushes with custom alphas (pore and spots) give the beast that final level of polish.
