Acoustics That Bring You Closer

-

Hospitality spaces possess a certain magic. Disparate to the feeling of our homes, there’s a certain allure to dining out – an immersive experience that speaks to all the senses. When designing a venue, whether it be a restaurant, bar reception area or other, the ambience of the space is paramount. We spend countless hours developing colour and material palettes, as well as lighting programmes, but what of acoustics?

Busy restaurants with minimal acoustic treatment can stereotypically record sound levels of approximately 80-90 decibels. At times this can reach up to 95 decibels. By comparison, a normal conversation sits at, typically, 60 decibels; an alarm clock at 80 decibels on average; and power tools at 90 decibels.

This, alongside the growing popularity for contemporary architectural palettes of steel, concrete, wood and glass (materials typically associated with reduced sound absorption), means there is a growing imperative to implement acoustic treatments that help to reduce noise (and thus stress levels), and also address more complex needs such as long term health conditions like tinnitus.

Autex Acoustics offers a range of subtle treatments that will reduce the sound levels of a room, while increasing users’ intimacy and comfort. This is thoughtfully taken care of in the formative stages of the design process. Here, acoustic treatments can holistically integrate with the overall design and aesthetic of a space.

In the instance that a room requires a refresh or retrofit, Autex Acoustics provides a number of simple and cost effective solutions.

The beauty of modern acoustic treatments is that they come in a number of different forms, from common wall and ceiling panels to fins, baffles and dividers. They can blend into the background or become statement pieces in and of themselves, depending on the designer’s desire.

Acoustic treatments possess the ability to have photorealistic patterns printed on them, ensuring they blend in with any textural choices a designer chooses to implement. Made from polyester fibre containing at least 45 per cent recycled PET plastics, Autex Acoustics’ solutions are equally lightweight and sustainable.

Above all, when created and installed by experts, acoustic treatments are able to reduce excessive noise within any room they are fixed within, without compromising on the desired sound-based ambience of the space.

Autex Acoustics’ treatments are created to preserve our ears and the intimacy of our spaces. When properly considered at the early design stages, designers, restaurateurs and patrons alike can benefit from that increased sense of connection and solace, that comes from a well-designed space that is empathetic to our every need.

Over exposure to loud noises is proven to increase stress and cause long-term health adversities. Acoustic treatments provide the antidote to these issues within our hospitality spaces.
