Building the infrastructure
Australia’s largest infrastructure project is underway. According to multinational professional services firm Arup, the South East Queensland Infrastructure Plan and Program is looking at more than $107 billion in investment to deliver the infrastructure required to manage sustainable growth across what is set to be the country’s fastest growing metropolitan region over the next 20 years.
There are about 300 projects included in the plan, covering roads, rail, public transport, ports, water, energy transmission and distribution, hospitals and health facilities, schools and tertiary education facilities, correctional and justice facilities, sporting and recreational facilities.
