Barbera Design ‘Uccio’ side table
DESIGNER: Daniel Barbera Daniel Barbera had a drive to create things from a young age. “I grew up making what I needed,” he says. “Somehow, I’d find old junk and modify it – it was a real foundation for my brain, along with lots of Lego!” Daniel established his label in 2004 with a focus on durable and timeless materials, such as marble, steel, leather and timber. The ‘Uccio’ table’s slatted-steel surface pairs with the slatted seat and backrest of the matching low chair – ideal for outdoor use – but it’s also available with a marble or timber top for indoor use, too. The slimline frame is created using a CNC wire-bending machine and the top is laser cut – the pieces are then welded together in Daniel’s Melbourne factory. Daniel’s Uccio range is named for his father’s childhood nickname. “He passed away just prior to my designing the range,” he says. “I named it after him, for all the knowledge he instilled in me.” $394, barberadesign.com.
