Jag’s top drops
For weight The 2014 Domaine
Nicolas PagetP Chenin Blanc has a comforting weight that keeps you going back for more and more. Enjoy it alongside grilled prawns. For dryness The 2015 Cabeco do Mocho ‘ Branco’ has an elegant dryness that compels you to order a dozen oysters. For acidity The 2016 Crawford River ‘ Young Vines’ Riesling has it all, but most importantly the acid is in balance. I regularly take a bottle to have with the chilli quail at Melbourne’s Supper Inn. For tannin The 2013 Brecciarolo Velenosi Sangiovese/Montepulciano has delightfully soft tannins. It’s the perfect accompaniment to a Sunday lamb roast.
