LESSONS LEARNT
“It’s absolutely critical to sample paint colours when you’re using a two-pack finish on joinery, as the paint in a two-pack reacts totally difffferently to flat or low-sheen wall paint. We ended up using what we thought would be a much darker shade than we needed, just to get the colour right. It’s a good idea to tint your undercoat to the same shade as your paint – it was another $500, but it’s amazing for hiding any scratches, particularly in areas that can get a lot of wear and tear.”
