The form: A metal carry basket with spherical globe. What makes it special: The ‘Carrie' lamp for Menu, by Danish design studio Norm Architects, has purposefully been reduced down to the most basic elements of an opal glass sphere and arch-shaped handle in painted metal. With this simplicity comes a strikingly graphic form and, due to its pivoting handle, an ability to be used on a table or hung from the wall with the sphere facing outwards. At just 24.5cm high and 13.5cm in diameter, it's easy to transport to the furthest reaches of the garden. Rechargeable via a USB cable, the LED lamp operates for five hours at full brightness and up to 24 hours on the minimum setting.
