Inside Out (Australia) - - Renovation -

While Louise and Richard took several years to hone their renovation vision, there were some must-haves that remained consistent throughout the design process.

A north-facing addition capturing the best of the Australian sun incorporates a lofty open-plan space for the family to cook, eat and entertain in, while a separate pavilion housing a barbecue kitchen, home office and exercise domain was constructed in keeping with the extension.

The original home maintains its beautiful heritage features, however, the rear is an entirely different story.

“We wanted the extension to be not just a continuation, but rather something of a surprise,” says Louise. “We were also keen for it to be low-key and fit into its environment.”

Tanya adds: “The outcome is a timeless, yet modern, home that establishes a good connection with the garden and creates an environment for contemporary family living.”
