“You don’t have to match everything up”

LESSONS LEARNT

- TESS REGAN, INTERIOR DESIGNER

“We weren’t too strict on matching up all the timber tones, but instead allowed them to highlight each of the features in their own way. For example, the looring was slightly darker than the joinery elements, and the external screens and fencing darker again. This layering of materials is complemented by the soft grey tones in the tiles and stones throughout.”

The exterior paint colour is Dulux Lexicon Quarter in a render that’s similar to Rockcote’s Sandcote inish. Poolside pavers, Surface Gallery. (opposite left) This transitional space has the full e ect of the wooden screens. The treads are the same timber as the looring. There’s a huge 4m x 1.5m cupboard underneath for storing wine, suitcases and some of the kids’ toys. Cumulus pendant light, Zanui. (opposite right) Child’s play is encouraged just about everywhere; William and Max jump for joy on their parents’ bed. White linen, Cultiver. Cushion, Kido Store. Memory loor lamp, Project 82.
